Handlebar Plug / TBW Handlebars on Cable Throttle, 1" Bars

The plug that lets an early style Throttle-By-Wire handlebar run on a cable throttle bike.

Most 1 inch bars are cut with the early style Throttle-By-Wire keyholes whether you need them or not, because it lets one bar cover both control types. On a cable throttle bike those notches sit open and visible at the right bar end. This Drag Specialties plug fills them, so the bar reads the same from either side.

Fitment

• Not needed on a Throttle-By-Wire bike, where the notches are in use

Before You Order

• Bars cut for '24 and up models do not need this. Those models use a different bar end entirely, not the notched style this plug fills, which is why they carry their own part numbers. There is nothing on them for a plug to sit in.
• Bars that are not cut for Throttle-By-Wire do not need it either. The Burly 1 inch Scrambler Bars, for example, are drilled for internal wiring but are not notched for TBW.

Common Questions

Do I need one of these? Only if your bike runs a cable throttle and your bar is cut with the early style Throttle-By-Wire notches. Check the right bar end.

I have a '24 Street Glide. Do I need one? No. The '24 and up bars use a different end style altogether, so there is no notch for the plug to fill. That is a separate design from both cable throttle and early style Throttle-By-Wire.

Does it change how the bar fits? No. It fills the throttle control notches and nothing else. Mounting, wiring and grip fitment are unchanged.

Will it fit a bar that is not Thrashin? Yes. What matters is the 1 inch grip area and the early style TBW notch, not the brand.
