Thread locking compound, gasket sealants and thread sealant, anti-seize, penetrating oil, contact and brake cleaner, assembly lube, shop towels and rags, nitrile gloves, tie wraps, wire and heat shrink, and the general purpose supplies a bench goes through.

Buy It With The Job

Nothing on this list is exciting and all of it stops work when you do not have it. Thread lock is the clearest case: plenty of Harley fasteners are specified with a particular grade, and the difference between the removable grade and the permanent one is the difference between a ten minute job later and a heat gun and a broken stud.

Anti-seize belongs on exhaust and any fastener going into aluminium that you expect to take out again. Penetrating oil belongs in the cupboard before you need it, not after a bolt has already rounded off.
