Three Holes, Three Fluids

A Big Twin Harley has three separate oil compartments - engine, primary and transmission - and they do not take the same fluid. Using engine oil in a primary, or the wrong weight in a gearbox, causes clutch drag and shifting problems. Read the product label against your service manual.

Pre-Evolution motors want a heavier straight-weight mineral oil, and there are 60wt options here specifically for them. Fork oil weight changes damping, so match it to what your suspension calls for rather than to what is on the shelf.
