Upgrades an early Twin Cam from mechanical spring tensioners to the later hydraulic system, HP+ tier.
The '99-'06 Harley-Davidson Twin Cam runs mechanical spring cam chain tensioners, and they are a wear item that fails into the oil system. This kit swaps that arrangement for the hydraulic system the factory moved to in '07, and does it with Feuling HP+ components rather than stock replacements.
Two things decide which variant you need. The first is which camshafts you are running, conversion style or the factory '99-'06 style. The second is whether your engine has a cam position sensor, which the '99-'01 Magneti Marelli ignition and carbureted engines have and the later Delphi engines do not.
- Upgrades the early '99-'06 mechanical spring tensioner cam chain drive to the late '07-'17 hydraulic system
- Includes a Feuling HP+ billet oil pump, high flow camplate and HP+ lifters
- Feuling billet hydraulic tensioner housings, tensioner pads, cam chains and sprockets
- Sprocket alignment spacers, bearings, gaskets, O-rings and hardware
- Rocker box gasket kit included so the factory one-piece pushrods can be reused
- Made in the U.S.A.
Fitment
- '99-'06 Twin Cam, excluding the '06 Dyna, which already uses the hydraulic system
- W/ Cam Sensor suits '99-'01 Magneti Marelli equipped ignition and carbureted engines needing the timing tab on the 34 tooth rear camshaft sprocket
- W/O Cam Sensor suits Delphi equipped ignition and carbureted engines running the 34 tooth rear sprocket without the timing tab
Important: no tensioner conversion kit contains camshafts. Conversion camshafts are a separate purchase, and Feuling offers them as 09250606 in the 525 grind, 09250671 in the 543 grind, 09250607 in the 574 grind and 09250672 in the 594 grind.
Works With
Conversion camshafts are sold separately. The 525 grind is on the Reaper 525 Conversion Cams product. For the Race Series tier of this same conversion, see the Race Series Hydraulic Tensioner Conversion.
