Front and rear suspension and front end parts for the Softail - fork tubes, lower legs, springs, cartridges and damper kits, fork seals and bushings, triple trees, fork covers and boots, neck and stem hardware, shocks and lowering kits, and the mounting hardware that goes with them.

Softail Fitment

Softail covers '84-'17 - FXST, FLSTF Fat Boy, FLSTC Heritage, FXSTB Night Train, FLS Slim and FXSB Breakout. These are cable-throttle bikes. 2018 and up is the M8 Softail, a different platform - see M8 Softail Parts.

Years that change what fits:

• 2000 - the Softail took the Twin Cam, a year after Touring and Dyna.
• 2018 - the Milwaukee-Eight Softail replaced both the Softail and the Dyna on a new frame.

Fork Diameter Comes First

Fork tubes, lower legs, cartridges and trees are all cut to a diameter - 35mm, 39mm, 41mm, 43mm and 49mm front ends are not interchangeable, and a great deal of fitment comes down to that number rather than the model name. On shocks, length is a real decision: shorter drops the bike and costs travel and ground clearance, longer changes the geometry. Match spring rate and preload to your weight and how you load the bike.
