Softail Fitment

Softail covers '84-'17 - FXST, FLSTF Fat Boy, FLSTC Heritage, FXSTB Night Train, FLS Slim and FXSB Breakout. These are cable-throttle bikes. 2018 and up is the M8 Softail, a different platform - see M8 Softail Parts.

Years that change what fits:

• 2000 - the Softail took the Twin Cam, a year after Touring and Dyna.
• 2018 - the Milwaukee-Eight Softail replaced both the Softail and the Dyna on a new frame.

Engine Parts Go By Cam Chest, Not By Model

This is the one that catches people out. Two bikes of the same year wearing the same badge can take completely different cams, plates, tensioners and oil pumps, because what matters is which engine generation is in the frame. Read the fitment list on the product page against your own motor rather than going by the model name.
