Windshields, fairings and the brackets that hold them on. Wind management is the difference between arriving fresh and arriving beaten up, and it is one of the few upgrades that pays off on the very first ride.

Memphis Shades

Memphis Shades covers the most ground - Batwing and Bullet fairings, Road Warrior and Fats and Slims windshields, spoilers and deflectors, in a range of heights and tints. The Trigger-Lock system is the reason so many riders run them: the mount kit stays on the bike and the shield comes off in seconds without tools.

That means a Memphis Shades purchase is usually two part numbers - the shield or fairing, and the Trigger-Lock mount kit for your specific bike. The shield alone will not mount to anything.

Klock Werks

Klock Werks Flare windshields use a kicked-up top edge to move air over the rider's helmet rather than into it, and are sold in a range of heights per model. Coverage includes Harley baggers and Indian PowerPlus models.

Getting The Height Right

Windshield height is measured for a rider of a given height in a given seating position, so the "right" shield depends on you as much as the bike. As a rule you want to look over the top edge, not through it - a shield you look through will show every bug and scratch, and it puts turbulence at helmet level.
