The Feuling Race Series Twin Cooled Short Travel Camchest Kit is a complete cam chest package for Twin Cooled M8 motors, built around a billet 7075 oil pump.

Feuling's argument with this kit is about oil, not cams. A billet 7075 aluminum oil pump is 50 percent harder and stronger than the factory unit, which means it holds tighter tolerances as temperature climbs, exactly when a stock pump starts giving ground. Everything downstream of that pump benefits, and the temperature numbers Feuling reports are the reason engine builders specify these.

What the Race Series Kit Delivers

Feuling reports 30 percent more pressure gear volume and 53 percent more scavenge gear volume over stock on Twin Cooled M8 motors, plus 68 percent more oil volume reaching the crankshaft and connecting rod bearings. The result they document is 15 to 25 degrees cooler engine temperature, 15 to 30 degrees cooler oil temperature, and 10 to 30 more psi of oil pressure. Sump oil level drops by around half, which reduces wet sumping, blowby and oily air cleaners.

Race Series hydraulic lifters carry a full .200" of total travel with a slower bleed-down rate, designed to handle heavy valve spring pressure and raise the rpm the valvetrain will tolerate. Deeper scavenge kidney ports over the HP+ series move more volume, and magnets in the oil pump protect the gears and pressure relief valve. Feuling's testing shows 2 horsepower and 2 ft-lbs gained at the rear wheel.
