Short travel lifters are the reason to choose this kit over the full travel version. Less travel means less mass moving and a more direct relationship between cam profile and valve movement, which is what a builder wants when the cam is aggressive and the rpm ceiling matters. Feuling pairs them with a Race Series oiling system, because valvetrain that stiff needs oil pressure that holds up.

What Makes This a Race Series Kit

The oil pump is billet 7075 aluminum, 50 percent harder and stronger than the factory pump, which lets it hold tighter tolerances as temperature climbs. Scavenge kidney ports run deeper than the HP+ series for more scavenge flow volume. Race Series hydraulic lifters carry a full .200" of total travel with a slower bleed-down rate, designed to handle heavy valve spring pressure and raise the rpm the valvetrain tolerates before float.

Required Valve Springs

508, 521 and 538 kits REQUIRE high lift valve springs, part 9262973 or 9262974. 592 kits REQUIRE high lift and load valve springs, part 9263138. These are not included and are not optional.
