Full travel lifters are the forgiving choice, and the cam list reflects that. Where the short travel kit starts at 508, this one opens at 465 and 472, grinds mild enough for a bike that still has to commute. That makes this the Race Series kit for a build where the oiling system is the upgrade and the cam is a moderate step rather than the point of the exercise.

What Makes This a Race Series Kit

The oiling package is identical to the rest of the Race Series: a billet 7075 aluminum oil pump 50 percent harder than the factory unit, a High Flow billet 7075 camplate, and scavenge kidney ports cut deeper than the HP+ series. What changes here is the lifter, running full .200" travel with a slower bleed-down rate, which handles heavy spring pressure while staying more tolerant of a stock-adjacent valvetrain.

Required Valve Springs

508, 521 and 538 kits REQUIRE high lift valve springs, part 9262973 or 9262974. 592 kits REQUIRE high lift and load valve springs, part 9263138. These are not included and are not optional.
