The usual barrier to better sound on a bagger is that everything worth having wants the dash torn apart. This kit does not. It keeps the factory radio, plugs into the factory connectors, and mounts in the factory locations, so the bike looks untouched when it is done. What changes is what comes out of it: a pair of Kicker 6.5 inch coaxials driven by a 300 watt four channel amplifier, tuned by Kicker rather than left flat.

Do I have to replace the radio?
No. That is the point of the kit. It works with the factory radio and factory wiring.

Will it drain the battery?
Kicker states the system has minimal impact on the motorcycle charging system. It is a 300 watt amplifier rather than a competition install.

What is a radio re-flash and do I need one?
It is a software update at a dealer that tells the factory radio an amplifier is present. Kicker recommends it. Without it the system will run, but not as it was tuned to.
