Custom Cycle Engineering 43mm Inverted Ultra Chrome Fork Tubes use an electrolyzed finish hardened to 55-60 Rockwell for longer seal and corrosion life.

Fork tube finish is a durability question disguised as a cosmetic one. Standard chrome looks bright and pits when road salt finds a chip. The Ultra Chrome process electrolyzes the surface to 55-60 Rockwell, giving up some of that showroom brightness in exchange for a harder, smoother tube that resists corrosion and drags less through the seals.

Why the Ultra Chrome Finish Matters

Hardness is what keeps a fork tube from scoring, and a scored tube destroys seals repeatedly until it is replaced. The smoother surface also means less stiction on small bump absorption and less wear on the seal lip over time. The tradeoff is honest: these are not as bright as chrome, but they last longer. Made in the USA, available in standard length plus 2 inch and 4 inch over.
