The S&S Piston Cooling Jet Kit sprays oil directly at the underside of the pistons on an M8 motor, pulling heat out of the hottest part of the engine.
Pistons shed most of their heat through the rings and into the cylinder wall, which works until you add displacement or compression. Then the crown runs hotter than the design ever intended. Aiming oil at the underside of the piston gives that heat somewhere else to go, and on a built motor it is one of the cheapest pieces of insurance available.
How the Cooling Jet Kit Works
The M8 kit uses dual spray nozzles that cool the intake and exhaust sides of each piston evenly, avoiding the temperature imbalance a single jet leaves behind. Spray locations were revised for more effective coverage, and the nozzle was shortened to open up rod clearance. Everything is machined from billet 6061 T6 aluminum and finished in S&S performance blue anodizing. Hardware and gaskets are included. Made in the USA.

Who Needs Piston Cooling Jets
