Cam Chest Kit without Cams / M8 Motors

The S&S Cam Chest Kit without Cams upgrades the oil pump, cam plate, pushrods and tappets on an M8 motor while keeping the camshafts you already run.

If the cam grind in your M8 is doing what you want, replacing it to get better hardware around it makes no sense. This kit covers everything except the cams: the oiling components, the valvetrain hardware, and the parts that most often limit a motor that has already been worked on. It is the sensible half of a cam chest job.

What the Kit Replaces

The oil pump and cam plate are precision machined from billet aluminum with removable passage plugs, so servicing them later does not mean replacing them. Independent scavenge sections handle the flywheel cavity and cam chest separately, which improves oil control where a shared circuit compromises both. S&S Quikee Pushrods adjust without disassembling the rocker boxes, and that alone saves hours on any future valvetrain work.

Precision tappets are hand assembled to exacting tolerances, which is what reduces valvetrain noise from startup through shutdown. Billet aluminum tappet cuffs with a hard anodized black coating replace weaker stock material, eliminating distortion and improving tappet stability under load.
