Barnett's billet aluminum replacement pressure plate for the five speed clutch, running either the stock or a heavy duty diaphragm spring.
The pressure plate is the part that turns spring force into clamping force across the clutch pack, and the stock casting flexes more than most people expect once a heavier spring goes behind it. Barnett machines this one from billet aluminum, so it stays flat under load and applies pressure evenly across the plates instead of dishing in the middle. That is what keeps engagement consistent and stops the pack from slipping in the middle of a pull. It works with the stock diaphragm spring or a heavy duty one, so it is as useful as a repair part as it is as an upgrade.
Features of the Barnett Billet Pressure Plate
- Machined from billet aluminum for a strong, flat clamping face
- Works with the stock diaphragm spring or a heavy duty spring

Before You Order
Check your transmission and clutch type before ordering. This is a five speed part, and Harley-Davidson used more than one clutch arrangement across these years. If your bike has been rebuilt, go by what is in it rather than by the year.
Common Questions About the Billet Pressure Plate
Do I need a heavy duty spring with it?
No. It works with the stock diaphragm spring. The billet plate is what lets a heavy duty spring do its job properly if you choose to fit one later.
Will it change my lever pull?
Not on its own. Lever effort comes from the spring, not the plate.
Can I reuse my clutch plates?
Yes, if they are within service spec. Measure friction plate thickness and check the steels for heat marking while the primary is open.
