Billet aluminum head breathers to replace the OEM plastic parts on a Twin Cam, with a labyrinth path that keeps oil out of the intake.

The head breathers vent crankcase pressure out of the rocker boxes, and on a Twin Cam they are plastic and they carry oil mist with them. That mist ends up in the air cleaner and eventually back through the motor, which is where the wet backing plate and the smell of burnt oil come from. S and S machines these from 6061 billet and routes the vent through a labyrinth, so the oil separates out and drains back instead of travelling on. Two O-rings per breather seal them in the head rather than the single seal the plastic parts use.

Common Questions About the Head Breather Kit

Will this stop oil in my air cleaner?
It reduces it. The labyrinth separates oil from the vented air and drains it back to the rocker box. A motor with worn rings or an overfilled sump will still push oil past anything.

Do I need to pull the rocker boxes?
No. The breathers come out from the top with the rocker cover off; they are not buried in the valve train.

Are the O-rings included?
Yes, the breathers ship with their dual O-rings fitted. Do not reuse the old seals.
