Terry Components 4-gauge battery cables for the Shovelhead FLH, in 1,650-strand tinned copper with pure copper lugs.
An old FLH that cranks slowly is usually not short of battery. It is losing the voltage in the cable, at the lug, or in the corrosion between them. Terry Components builds these from 4-gauge wire made up of 1,650 individual tinned copper strands, which carries current better than a coarse cable and stays flexible instead of work hardening. The lugs are 99.9 percent pure electrolytic copper on a design of their own, so the joint between cable and terminal is not the restriction. The silicone jacket takes engine bay heat without going hard.

Common Questions About the Battery Cable Kit
Will this fix slow cranking?
It fixes the part of slow cranking that lives in the cable. Check the battery, the starter and the ground connection at the same time; a fresh cable onto a corroded ground gains you nothing.
Is 4-gauge overkill?
No. A starter pulls hundreds of amps for a few seconds, and voltage lost in an undersized cable is voltage the starter never sees.
Does the kit include everything?
It includes the cables the stock application needs. Clean or replace the terminals they bolt to; a new cable on a dirty post is still a bad connection.
