AXEO43 Inverted Front Suspension / 43mm

The Legend AXEO43 replaces the asymmetrical inverted fork internals on '18-'21 Softail models with a matched twin cartridge set and a micrometer preload adjuster.

The inverted 43mm fork on these Softails runs different internals in each leg from the factory, an asymmetrical arrangement that limits how the front end can be tuned. The AXEO43 replaces that with a matched twin cartridge set despite the different mounting each leg requires, which is the technical achievement here. It also brings a micrometer preload adjuster unique to this system, for precise repeatable settings.

How the AXEO43 System Works

Two mono-tube, dual chambered, fluid-filled damper cartridges carry a nitrogen chamber with an internal floating piston, sealed with a high pressure nitrogen-specific Schrader valve. A damper piston and deflective disc shim stack handle the valving. Performance-rated springs run an internal linear spring guide with top out springs, and a hydraulic bumper with polyurethane bump stop manages the end of travel. The micrometer preload adjuster and internal linear spring guide are unique to the AXEO43. The result is controlled ride quality, no dive under braking, and no bottoming on large bumps.
